Just for Today

Summer is not an eternity.
It ends.
Like everything else.
In an ever evolving universe
the only perpetual,
change.
The only constant,
inconstancy.
And as much as I may want
the mildness of a Michigan summer's day
to last forever,
it cannot.
But the warmth in my heart
extends the season
bringing some of it to you
not for an eternity
just for one more day.
