After days upon days dry
the drenching rains today
welcomed.
The trees laden, bowing
stretch for the ground
seemingly reaching for their roots,
the quenching rainwater they bring.
The trees joyfully weeping
dripping their leaves
to thank their toes
for a summer storm's
nourishment.
