Michigan Fall

On the last day of summer,
ubiquitous clouds
of varying shades of gray
hide the sun
and the sky beyond.
In Michigan,
fall's way of saying,
my turn?

But then the first day of fall,
the clouds mostly dissipate
revealing the baby blue sky
and the warmth of the sun's rays.
Summer saying,
not quite yet?

Summer wanes.
Autumn breathes
a cooler breeze
while Michigan's landscape
starts to turn
from green
to various reds and yellows
and life turns
from warm water lakes
to other
pleasantries.
