Poetry: The Movie, a Review

Poetry and pain.
The line is more than blurred,
the line clearly crossed.

For a 2010 movie titled
Poetry
is not words of beauty.
It is more than that.
For this poem exposes the
turmoil and torture
that rape brings
to the human soul,
to even those
who are not the victim
but realize that
each of us loses a piece
of our humanity
as do our daughters
whom we cannot console.

“Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn't, didn't already have”
